Consider the features you might want from a handset before you make your choice and if you are buying the handsets to comply with your existing telephone system, make sure they are compatible and that they come with detailed instructions for use.

Most companies that sell reconditioned handsets will provide a guarantee on performance. If no guarantee or warranty is in place, don’t buy. At least a three month warranty should be placed on used handsets and make sure the warranty covers labour as well as parts.

Look for bestsellers when considering which models to buy. Not only will the performance of a best selling handset be top class, you will find there is plenty of stock for parts, should your handset require attention under warranty. Take the opportunity to browse the range of handsets for the right model. Most businesses spend half the working day on the telephone so it is a key item of equipment and needs to have the right features for your company. Ask about including a free item in the price as many companies exercise a more flexible bargaining policy with second hand equipment.

You might consider selling your handsets when you decide to upgrade, in which case source a buyer that will pay for freight. Most buyers will pay COD and the handsets need to be in excellent condition if you want to avoid having to reduce your price on delivery. You will need to send the buyer a detailed list of the phone handsets you have for sale and you will be given a price, making it easier perhaps to budget for replacement. Some telephone handset suppliers will give you a trade in price against your next set of used handsets on an upgrade system.
